Christy not only oversees the day-to-day operations of Masterpiece Design Group, but also works closely with her design staff to ensure that quality, beauty, and unique designs are always delivered.
Christy decided early on that she was going to distinguish herself when it came to her work, life, and the creative passion she held. At the age of 15, she pondered, “Why make money for someone else? Instead, why not work for myself?” And so, by the age of 17, she was designing and fabricating her own line of unique “art jackets” that were sold in three malls throughout Texas. After working for some of the most successful merchandising firms in Orlando, the rest is history!
Christy is highly respected throughout the builder and design community and frequently contributes as a speaker on current design trends. Most recently, Christy has lectured at the Greater Orlando Builders Association (GOBA), Southeast Building Conference (SEBC), and both judged and spoke at the Best in American Living Awards (BALA).
In her free time, Christy loves to travel with her husband, Don, and raise their two children, Jacob and Rylie. Other hobbies include fishing, traveling, and attending sporting events with her children.
Adair is one of the forces in the stability and longevity of Masterpiece Design Group. Doubling as the company CFO, Adair is also responsible for the organizational and financial health of Masterpiece. He believes in creating an efficient and productive business operation, which has contributed substantially to the staying power of Masterpiece.
Adair has brought a breadth of experience to the company, having built and operated many other businesses during his career. Prior to Masterpiece, Adair had a successful business career in Texas, working for two national CPA firms, founding a commercial real estate development company, and constructing numerous shopping centers and office buildings. He was additionally responsible for mergers and acquisitions, and helped create and build the country’s largest marina owner/operator. Adair also holds both a BBA and an MBA in accounting and economics.
In college, and later as an amateur, Adair competed in national golf tournaments. He is now proud of shooting his age – more than once! Adair is married to Masterpiece’s Co-Founder, Carol, and enjoys spending time with his greatest successes, their three children and six grandchildren.
Don brings the designer’s vision to life. Tasked with executing their dreams and insuring a seamless installation, Don not only manages the 20,000-square-foot product warehouse, but also the logistical operations staff and its fleet of vehicles. His ultimate goal is that each and every job is completed on time and that the vision of the designers is fulfilled, resulting in a happy client.
Don is the only employee in the organization to attend each of the 1,500+ model and residential installations in company history. With the 4 a.m. wake ups and late night installations, there is never a dull moment with Don and his operations staff. He truly believes in having fun on the job.
Don graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in communications and computer science before joining Masterpiece in 2000. Over the years, Don has become an instrumental part of Masterpiece and enjoys working with the designers to create beautiful spaces.
When Don is not working, he enjoys giving back to his community through Christian Help and Second Harvest Food Bank, coaching his son’s baseball team, fishing (when at all possible), and spending time with his wife of 18 years, Christy, and their two children, Jacob and Rylie.
Lisa joined Masterpiece Design Group in 2004 and quickly proved she could be a leader and a designer. Her positive attitude, design ability, and architectural detailing have been recognized in the state of Florida. Working with Masterpiece Design Group, Lisa has won several MAME Awards and multiple Aurora Awards.
She has known since the seventh grade that this was what she wanted to do. Lisa always had an artistic ability and taking art and drafting classes wasn’t enough. Her aunt was in the industry, and after working with her side-by-side, she knew she wanted to follow in her footsteps. She began working at an early age through high school with some well-recognized designers in the Orlando area.
Lisa followed her passion for design and attended Florida State University where she graduated in the top of her class receiving several awards for her outstanding projects. Lisa was one of two students elected to present at the Regional Design Awards.
Aside from being creative at work, Lisa enjoys anything outside with her two children, John and McKenna. Her hobbies include physical fitness, the great outdoors, and gardening.
Since 2007, Marilyn has led the Model Merchandising Division by providing marketing and new business development services while creating long-lasting builder partnerships. Marilyn’s insight into the “builder world” and her ability to translate that data into model merchandising reality has been an added tool in the Masterpiece toolbox, helping her complete hundreds of successful models.
Prior to joining Masterpiece, Marilyn worked for a Winter Park-based production builder and helped lead the company’s growth from a single closing its initial year to well over 700. In an effort to pursue a career change, Marilyn explored the opportunity of combining her builder knowledge with the talents of Masterpiece, creating the perfect pair of knowledge and know-how.
Marilyn is a long-standing member of the Greater Orlando Builders Association (GOBA) and the Sales & Marketing Council, is a past Co-Chair for the Major Achievement Awards, and continues to serve on the committee for the annual event.
Marlene joined Masterpiece Design Group in 2005. Marlene cultivates deep and lasting relationships with both clients and builders, and welcomes the challenge of balancing creative designs while working within a client’s budget. She is an award-winning interior designer and is very skilled in different facets of design, including residential, resorts, and model homes. Marlene’s passion for design, attention to detail, and perfectionism not only helps her to produce beautiful interiors, but also makes her a great mentor to other designers.
After graduating from Florida State University with a B.S. in interior design, Marlene moved to Los Angeles to begin her design career. She had the opportunity to work with some amazing design firms and gained great experience before moving to Orlando.
Marlene enjoys going to design trade shows and furniture markets to find new inspiration and stay current on the latest styles and trends, as well as spending time with her husband, Michael, and their son, Adam.
Amy joined Masterpiece in 2004 as the residential and hospitality liaison, working with clients to realize their design dreams.
Working at Masterpiece has helped Amy identify her true passions – developing relationships, winning new business, and client-focused interior design marketing.
As a valued member of the Masterpiece team, Amy continues to be immersed in great design, while remaining dedicated to her role as the “conduit between the best designers and the best clients.”
From a young age, Amy always had an excitement for art and design, from attending Crealde School of Art every summer to receiving her BA in Art, with Art History Concentration, and graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors.
Prior to Masterpiece, Amy held positions in the art department for Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI), in design & marketing for Pamela Temples Interiors (PTI), and in business development for internationally renowned design group Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo (WATG).
Since 2006, Karin has been building the model home furniture resale division of Masterpiece Design Group. Karin and her talented team have grown the company from two sales per year to two sales per month, working with builders in Central Florida and Tampa and as far south as Ft. Myers.
Prior to joining Saturday Models, Karin worked in the banking industry in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She was a loans manager for Bank of Montreal and Scotiabank, assisting clients with mortgages, personal loans and investments. Karin graduated from Lakehead University with a degree in business administration majoring in marketing. She has used her education, previous banking and years of customer service experience to make Saturday Models into a successful and well-respected division.
In her downtime, Karin enjoys spending time with her husband, Jerry, stepson, Joseph, and two dogs, Simba and Chewie. She also travels to Canada several times a year to visit her family.
Michelle Ryder serves as the Corporate Controller for Masterpiece Design Group. Michelle’s primary responsibility is accurate and fair financial reporting of Masterpiece and its affiliates. Michelle is also responsible for protecting the wellness of the company’s liquidity and other assets.
Prior to joining Masterpiece, Michelle worked for a Winter Park-based developer. There, she was involved with oversight of the financial activity for over 8,000 apartment units with a total capitalization of over $1 billion. She holds a B.A. in business administration from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL, is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and Florida Institute of CPAs (FICPA).
During her downtime, Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband and son, running, and reading. She also enjoys spending time at the beach.
